UFC star Sean O’Malley believes that he is a level above Aiemann Zahabi as they prepare to square off at UFC Freedom 250.

Later this month at the White House, Sean O’Malley will make his return to the cage when he faces off against Aiemann Zahabi. If he can pick up the win, there is every chance that he will go on to receive another shot at the UFC bantamweight championship.

On the flip side, of course, a loss for O’Malley against a rising prospect like Zahabi could really harm his bantamweight future, to the point where he may even have to consider making the move up to featherweight.

In a recent interview, however, O’Malley made it clear that he feels like he is a level above his next foe.

O’Malley looks ahead to Zahabi fight

“He’s on a seven-fight winning streak. At what point do you give him a big fight? This is the point,” O’Malley said. “This is the biggest fight of his life. In a sense it’s the biggest fight of my life, too. I guess the next one always is. I don’t look at him as an Aljo (Sterling) or a Petr Yan or a Merab. I don’t think there’s levels to this game – I know there’s a levels to this game and I believe I’m on a different level.

“I’m a level above Aiemann, and I get to go out there and prove it. Do I think he’s deserving? Absolutely. Do I think he’s very, very skilled and tough? To go on a seven-fight winning streak in the UFC, you have to be.”
