Who and what are these shoes for?
I think the Guide 19 works really well for runners who want a little extra support but don’t want a heavy, traditional stability shoe. For me, it feels best suited to easy runs, steady mileage and longer efforts where comfort and consistency matter most. It would also work well for newer runners or anyone who finds neutral shoes a bit too unstable when fatigue sets in.
How does the Saucony Guide 19 fit?
I found the Guide 19 fitted true to size with a secure, supportive feel without being overly restrictive. The updated engineered mesh upper feels softer and more accommodating than previous versions, particularly through the forefoot where there’s enough room for natural toe splay. Around the midfoot and heel, the lockdown felt solid and reassuring, especially on longer runs when stability becomes more important.
Is it comfortable?
Comfort is one of the biggest strengths of the Guide 19. The combination of PWRRUN cushioning and Saucony’s supportive geometry creates a ride that feels soft enough for daily miles but still controlled underfoot.
I liked that the shoe feels cushioned without becoming overly squishy, and the padded heel collar and tongue give it a plush, premium feel straight away. It’s supportive, but in a subtle way that doesn’t constantly remind you you’re wearing a stability shoe.

Saucony Guide 19 run test
I’ve been testing the Guide 19 for a couple of months now. It first arrived towards the end of my marathon training and I put it straight to use for short to medium length runs, topping off at about 9 miles.
On the run, the Guide 19 feels smooth, stable and dependable. The rocker geometry helps the shoe roll nicely through transitions, and I found the platform supportive without feeling intrusive. The cushioning absorbs impact well on roads, while still maintaining enough responsiveness to stop the ride feeling flat.
It’s not a fast shoe, but I found it handled everything from short recovery runs to longer steady sessions comfortably. The wider base also gives a reassuringly planted feel, especially on tired legs.
