A new reason to pay attention to what's going on with the Kansas City Royals has emerged, at least every fifth day. 

After struggling earlier in the season, Noah Cameron has managed to find a rhythm in his most recent starts, even securing a rare victory on Wednesday night.

Cameron pitched eight dominant innings in the Royals' 2-1 win over the Minnesota Twins, allowing one run on just two hits and a walk. He also recorded nine strikeouts. 

Noah Cameron's recent stretch has been historic 

Wednesday was Cameron's third consecutive start going past the seventh inning and giving up two or fewer hits, placing him on a short list that includes Justin Verlander, Damian Moss, Randy Johnson and Rube Marquard as pitchers to post a similar stretch since 1900. He now even has a chance to stand alone above the rest in his next outing. 

But due the lack of run support, Cameron is now only 6-8 on the year. He ended up with two no decisions in the first two games of his streak, both losses for the Royals.

Noah Cameron failed to earn the win in his previous two starts during his streak 

Kansas City lost to the Twins on July 30 despite Cameron giving up one hit through eight and fell on July 24 to the Detroit Tigers after Cameron logged a seven-inning shutout.

However, Cameron, 27, who made his MLB debut in 2025, has endured rough appearances throughout the season as well. In 21 starts and 123.2 innings of work, Cameron has a 4.37 ERA, 116 strikeouts and a 1.28 WHIP.
