Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThere is no denying that when healthy and at his best, Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is a superstar and one of the best players in all of Major League Baseball.
Acuna hasn't been at his best when it matters most, though, as he has continuously failed to show up and perform when it matters most in October.
That trend has continued this October, and it is becoming concerning for one of the game's top stars.
Ronald Acuna Jr. is once again struggling in the postseason
Acuna was quiet in Tuesday's loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, going 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout. The hitless performance for Acuna was his third in six postseason games, making him 3-for-21 (.143) with no extra-base hits and four strikeouts.
It's a concerning trend for Acuna in the postseason, as he now has just 10 hits in his previous 43 postseason at-bats. For his career, Acuna has a .238 average in the postseason, well below his career batting average of .285.
Additionally, Acuna hasn't had a postseason RBI since Game 6 of the 2020 NLCS against the Dodgers. That means Acuna has won an MVP Award (2023) since the last time he drove in a run in the playoffs, a stat that sounds almost made up.

— FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) October 6, 2026Atlanta needs more from its superstar
If the Braves have any hopes of coming back from a 2-1 series deficit and advancing past the NLDS for the first time since 2021, it begins with Acuna. He has to step up and be the superstar caliber player that is often present in the regular season.
If he is unable to do that, Atlanta is going to have a tough time knocking off the Dodgers and Acuna is going to have another long offseason of thinking about what he could've done to help his team on the biggest stage.
