The Houston Rockets have added another experienced perimeter scorer to a roster built to contend immediately, agreeing to a one-year contract with veteran guard Bogdan Bogdanovic in free agency.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Bogdanovic agreed to the deal Tuesday after Rockets executives made a strong recruiting push. The move gives Houston an accomplished floor spacer entering his 10th NBA season and adds another proven postseason veteran alongside a core that already features Kevin Durant, Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson.

Houston finished the 2025-26 regular season with a 52-30 record, good for fifth place in the Western Conference, before falling to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games during the opening round of the playoffs. The front office has since doubled down on maximizing its championship window, first acquiring Durant and now adding another reliable outside shooter.

Bogdanovic’s production dipped last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he averaged 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 19.7 minutes across 23 games while shooting 38.8% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range.

Over nine NBA seasons with the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Clippers, Bogdanovic has averaged 14.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 43.6% from the field and 38.1% from beyond the arc. He has consistently been one of the league’s more dependable perimeter threats, averaging at least 14 points in six different seasons.

His best year came in 2023-24 with Atlanta, when he posted 16.9 points per game while knocking down 3.0 three-pointers per contest on 37.4% shooting from deep. That performance earned him a fifth-place finish in Sixth Man of the Year voting after previously finishing sixth in 2021-22.

The Rockets already possess one of the NBA’s most balanced starting groups. Durant led the team with 26.0 points per game while shooting 52.0% from the floor and 41.3% from three last season. Sengun contributed 20.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists as an All-Star center, while Amen Thompson added 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists and received Defensive Player of the Year consideration.

The Rockets also continued adding young talent during the 2026 NBA Draft, acquiring Bruce Thornton with the 31st overall pick before selecting Jack Kayil at No. 39.
