Orgo-Life the new way to the future

Robert Garcia’s team was still waiting for flights and travel information for Lindolfo Delgado’s appearance on the October 31 Canelo Alvarez–Christian Mbilli card in Riyadh, leaving the trainer questioning how his fighter’s final preparations would come together.

Garcia wants Delgado settled in Saudi Arabia at least seven days before fight night. When speaking out, the gym could not even book a departure time. That uncertainty makes managing the traveling entourage much harder.

“My team, at least my team with Lindolfo Delgado, we’ve been waiting all weekend. We don’t have no flights. We don’t have no information,” Garcia told BoxingScene. “So honestly, I don’t really know what’s going to happen.”

Late itineraries create pure chaos for someone finishing up camp. Making weight, shaking off jet lag, getting proper sleep- everything depends on travel schedules. Arriving late cuts into the critical days Garcia needs with his fighter in Riyadh before opening bell.

“Lindolfo and the rest of my team should’ve already known they’re flying out in the next couple of days to be there at least 1 week before,” Garcia said.

“We can’t be sitting, waiting, and thinking, ‘We’re just waiting for that flight. They’ll send it to us.’ They should have already.”

His most chilling remark touched on the reality of heading into the region.

“I don’t want to be in a documentary 25 years from now talking about all these brave fighters, coaches and managers that went [to Saudi Arabia] and never came back.”

That is an intense reaction to what usually amounts to simple event logistics. Garcia answers for everyone in his camp, so sitting around without answers clearly set off alarms.

Delgado still has a fight to win. His corner needs firm tickets plus adequate acclimatization time to get the job done right. Until those confirmations land, this camp is stuck trying to organize daily routines around an invisible schedule.
