Not everyone was impressed by what the Tigers extracted from the Dodgers for two-time Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal. 

“They got bupkis,” one rival executive said of the Tigers. 

Some said the Tigers did OK landing top outfield prospect Zyhir Hope (the obvious gem of the return), plus pitching prospects River Ryan and Brady Smith. Others are appalled/annoyed baseball’s best team keeps figuring out how to land baseball’s best players for little. 

The critics say that among other ample skills exhibited by Dodgers baseball people, they somehow get their prospects overrated on important but imprecise or even inaccurate prospect lists. One executive suggested Hope’s ranking (No. 25 by MLB) might be close since they see him as a potential multi-time MLB All-Star.
