It has been four years already since Jalen Brunson signed with the New York Knicks after playing four seasons with the Dallas Mavericks.

While Luka Doncic has been with the Los Angeles Lakers for more than a year, former Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle recalled the potential dominance in the league if the two superstars stayed in Dallas.

Speaking on the Draymond Green Show, Carlisle shared insights about the Brunson-Doncic tandem from his time with the Mavericks.

“He’s a guy that figures s**t out, his resourcefulness as a player is one of his great strengths,” Carlisle said.

Brunson never complained about what he did not have, but rather focuses on his own resources, while Doncic is one of the most talented in the league.

From a talent standpoint, an ability, and everything else, he’s the most unique player I’ve ever worked with. I mean, he’s just so, so good, and he’s a killer,” he added.

The Knicks guard has approached the Dallas front office wanting to sign a four-year, $55 million extension.

Years later, Brunson has won a championship, while Doncic is also in his prime, leading the Lakers to the postseason.

Brunson averaged 26 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, while Doncic dropped 33.5 points, 7.7 boards, and 8.3 assists per game in the previous season.

With their dominance in the league, this could be considered one of the biggest what-ifs in history, seeing potential in bringing multiple titles to Dallas.
