Powerbeats Fit review

Are Powerbeats Fit the best all-round fitness earbuds for runners and gym lovers?

I’ve been wearing them for six months now, and this is why they’re my go-to headphones for running and working out.

Who and what are the Powerbeats Fit for?

Powerbeats Fit are designed for runners and gym-goers who want secure, sweat-resistant earbuds with premium sound quality and long battery life. These earbuds are built for movement, whether you’re tackling long runs, strength training, or just want high-performance audio on the go.

How do they fit?

Powerbeats Fit have flexible, secure-fit wingtips that gently tuck into the ear. They are comfortable and secure during movement. The wingtips have been refined to provide the same secure feel as the ear hooks on Powerbeats Pro, but in a sleeker, more compact form. With four ear tip sizes included (extra-small, small, medium and large), it’s easy to find a personalised fit that stays put through runs, workouts and daily wear.

How’s the sound quality?

The sound is the standout feature of the Powerbeats Fit. If you’re used to mid-range headphones you’ll definitely notice the difference. The sound is rich and well-balanced thanks to a custom acoustic platform and proprietary drivers. The audio is punchy and dynamic, with clear highs and deep bass. It holds up well whether you’re running outdoors or tuning in during a gym session.

They also support Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking for a more immersive listening experience, particularly for music, movies and calls. Whether you’re after focus or awareness, you can switch between Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and Transparency mode to suit your environment.

What’s the battery life like?

The Powerbeats Fit have a great battery life. I’ve used them in the gym, on the bike and for a 3 hour run. You should get up to 7 hours of playback per charge (with ANC turned off as that uses more battery), and up to 30 hours total with the charging case. If you’re short on time and need to charge them before a run, the Fast Fuel feature gives you 1 hour of playback from just a 5-minute charge.

Powerbeats Fit run test

I take them on every long run and have never had them run out of battery yet. And that’s with me often forgetting to charge them up between runs. I also use them with my laptop and switching from phone to laptop is seamless.

I’ve used these headphones for workouts in the gym, spin sessions on the bike and up to 3 hour runs. They have stayed in place throughout it all. I was most concerned about the gym session, as my head changes position so much from doing push-ups to overhead lifts. I had no issues with the headphones moving.

The sound quality is great and would be the main reason for buying them. They’re the best in-ear headphones I’ve used.

The other main selling point for me as an apple user is the seamless connectivity with my iphone. Without me having to change any settings they were reading my texts to me and I was able to reply while out running. I also asked Siri to skip tracks and change the volume without issue either.

They’re smaller than the Powerbeats Pro 2 as they don’t have the additional ear hook. This is particularly good for glasses users as I’ve found that the Powerbeats Pro 2 can get in the way of my glasses or sunglasses.

While the integration with Android phones isn’t quite as tight as with Apple devices, Android users should still get a great set of features and performance.
