The two top seeds in the National League will meet in the Championship Series. The Brewers host the Dodgers in a series that begins at 7 pm CT on Sunday. Jacob Misiorowski will get the ball for Milwaukee. He’ll face off against two-time Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal.

Both clubs should be well-rested. Each wrapped up its Division Series on Wednesday. The Brewers took three of four from the Padres to advance. It was a tight series, with the four games decided by a total of five runs. The Dodgers took a similar path. L.A. took care of business in four games against the Braves. Every matchup was decided by three runs or fewer.

Milwaukee reached triple-digit victories for the first time in franchise history. The club’s 103 wins paced both leagues. The Brewers’ well-rounded offense produced the second-most runs, behind only the Cubs. It’s hard to understate the depth of the lineup. Milwaukee’s starting nine in Game 4 against the Padres featured seven hitters with an OPS of .718 or better in the regular season. One of the two hitters to fall short of that threshold was newly-minted captain Christian Yelich, who hit .357 with two steals in the series.

Misiorowski is the clear headliner of the pitching staff. The likely NL Cy Young winner led all qualified pitchers with a 1.80 ERA. He also led the league with 252 strikeouts. Logan Henderson will get the ball in Game 2. The young righty delivered a 2.47 ERA in 18 starts with the big-league club. He’s yet to give up more than three earned runs in an MLB start. Henderson held the Padres to one earned run over five innings in a Game 2 victory. Robert Gasser and Dustin May are candidates for Games 3 and 4. Milwaukee led the NL in bullpen ERA this year. Trevor Megill and Abner Uribe form a high-octane tandem in the later innings.

The Dodgers are trying to become the first team to win three straight titles since the Yankees from 1998 through 2000. Los Angeles was the only other team in baseball to win 100 games. The club finished fourth in scoring. There were several underperformers, but the lineup seemed to coalesce at the right time. Only the Padres posted a higher OPS in September.

One of the key factors on offense will be the health of Shohei Ohtani. He returned from the injured list in the final week of the regular season. Ohtani wasn’t his four-time MVP self in the NLDS, going 2-for-13 with four strikeouts. He was dropped to fifth in the lineup in Game 3. Ohtani hit cleanup in Game 4.

L.A. boasts a superstar rotation. Blake Snell joins Skubal as a two-time Cy Young winner. Yoshinobu Yamamoto delivered an all-time performance in the 2025 World Series, earning MVP honors. Tyler Glasnow is the most overqualified No. 4 starter in the league. Yamamoto will start Game 2 against Henderson. It’ll likely be either Snell or Glasnow in Game 3, with the other one starting Game 4.

The Dodgers took two of three in Milwaukee back in May. The Brewers got their revenge in August, winning three of four matchups in L.A.
