The Detroit Pistons have surfaced as a potential participant in a multi-team trade framework that could help facilitate a blockbuster move sending Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Under the reported concept, Detroit would not be pursuing Antetokounmpo directly. Instead, the Pistons would serve as a third-team partner and would receive Heat guard Tyler Herro as part of the larger transaction.

Such an arrangement could allow Miami to assemble the assets necessary for a Giannis deal while giving Detroit an opportunity to acquire a proven scorer and perimeter shooter.

Detroit’s interest in Herro aligns with the organization’s offseason priorities. The Pistons have been actively searching for additional shooting and offensive firepower to complement their young core after a breakthrough campaign.

They have already been connected to several notable players in trade rumors, including Kyrie Irving and Trey Murphy III, as the front office evaluates ways to strengthen the roster for both the regular season and the playoffs.

The Pistons have also reportedly explored interest in Zach LaVine, Coby White, and Isaiah Joe, highlighting their desire to improve spacing, shot creation, and backcourt depth.

While White is currently expected to remain with the Hornets, league chatter suggests he could become attainable if the right opportunity arises later this summer.

Herro would provide Detroit with a player capable of contributing immediately on offense.

Last season, he averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 31.3 minutes per game across 33 appearances, continuing to demonstrate his ability as a high-level scorer and secondary playmaker.

The 26-year-old remains under contract through the 2026-27 season, giving any acquiring team multiple years of cost certainty.
