Phillies are getting the best version of Bryce Harper this season

The Philadelphia Phillies have transformed their season following a horrid 9-19 start. While many factors have contributed to their turnaround success, one of them is Bryce Harper

The Phillies are getting the best version of Harper, who is dishing out consistent home runs (12), walks (26) and a low strikeout rate (17.3 percent).

His power surge was present in the Pittsburgh Pirates series as he homered in back-to-back games (May 16-17) off Bubba Chandler and Paul Skenes.

In his last 20 games, his offense has been off the charts with a .319/.422/.594 slash line, a 1.016 OPS, .432 wOBA and a 177 wRC+.

Why Bryce Harper is having a stellar season

Harper has emerged as an offensive catalyst, contributing to the team's surge in the NL East. He's boasted a .934 OPS and solid plate discipline with a 13.2 percent walk rate, which has continued to spark the offense. His impact on the Phillies has helped them emerge from a disastrous April that left the team in a dark hole.

With the dramatic shift of the Phillies under interim manager Don Mattingly, Harper has been a keystone of the offense. He's helped spark a successful 15-4 record that has positioned them back as contenders. His simplified approach at the plate, paired with better pitch selection, has ignited both Harper's and the Phillies' resurgence.

Following a down 2025 season that didn't uphold his MVP status, Harper has found his MVP-caliber form this season. He sported his lowest OPS (.844) since 2016 last season. But this season, he's provided elite contact with a barrel rate of 14.6 percent that ranks in the 87th percentile.
