A stomach illness has disrupted preparations for Panathinaikos Aktor, AEK and Spartak Office Shoes following their return from the International Tournament Rhodes 2026.

Panathinaikos reported six staff members suffering from gastroenteritis, with some requiring hospital treatment.

The club is concerned the illness could spread to players after the team faced AEK and Spartak in Rhodes, where the clubs stayed at the same hotel.

The outbreak adds to Zeljko Obradovic’s concerns ahead of the Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament.

Panathinaikos is already without Moustapha Fall, Nigel Hayes-Davis, Kendrick Nunn and Nikos Rogkavopoulos, while Kostas Sloukas is still working toward full game readiness.

AEK has reported eight cases, including five players. Gaios Skordilis became ill after returning to Athens, while Frank Bartley IV’s illness forced the postponement of a medical examination for his knee injury.

With another four players injured, normal team practices have become difficult.

Spartak was also affected, with four players and four coaching staff members experiencing severe gastrointestinal problems.

The Serbian club has introduced medical measures in hopes of getting those affected healthy before the new season begins.
