The San Diego Padres video screen trolled Bryce Harper during Tuesday night’s game at Petco Park.

Just after Trea Turner was ruled safe during a pickoff attempt at first base in the sixth inning, a fun fact popped up on the Petco Park video board, making fun of Harper.

“Squirts toothpaste into his mouth instead of onto a toothbrush when brushing his teeth,” the sign said.

Harper made headlines Monday morning when he created a TikTok video showing how he brushes his teeth, and it instantly went viral across the internet.

Instead of squirting toothpaste onto the top of his toothbrush, Harper squirts the toothpaste into his mouth and then begins brushing.

A different approach to brushing your teeth, no doubt. Harper’s method has been in the public eye over the last few days.

Host of MLB Network Radio show Mike Ferrin co-hosts a baseball talk show with former New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles manager Jim Duquette. On Wednesday morning, Ferrin said he tried Harper’s brushing method and said, “He might be onto something with this.”

This video is not the first time Harper has been in the public spotlight due to something he did on TikTok.

His account started in July, 2024, but he really started to make headlines in January the next year. Harper was going viral for cooking videos showing how he made smoothies, coffee, and banana bread.
