The market for Giannis Antetokounmpo has reportedly attracted significant interest around the league, but only two teams are currently believed to have received assurances regarding a long-term commitment from the former MVP.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Shams Charania said that numerous organizations expressed strong interest in trading for Antetokounmpo during the NBA Combine.

“There were a ton of teams that made offers that had robust interest in Giannis,” said Charania.

According to the analyst, however, the Celtics and Heat are the only teams involved in discussions that have received indications Antetokounmpo would be willing to remain with them beyond a trade.

“Right now, the Heat and Celtics are the only two teams involved that have gotten the commitment from Giannis that he is willing to sign long-term,” said Charania.

Milwaukee reportedly evaluated trade offers before the deadline and chose to continue discussions closer to the draft.

Any team pursuing Antetokounmpo without a long-term commitment would be taking a substantial risk, as he could become a free agent in 2027 and potentially leave after a short stay.
