The EuroLeague powerhouse has encountered difficulties with its wing depth, prompting the organization to explore potential reinforcements ahead of the upcoming stretch of the season.
Konchar, a 6-foot-5 guard/forward, recently signed a training camp contract with the New York Knicks and was initially considered a strong candidate to secure a place on their opening-night roster.
However, the Knicks waived him early in training camp after he stepped away to address a personal matter, leaving the veteran available on the market.
Olympiacos’ interest comes after the departure of Shaquielle McKissic during the offseason, which reduced the team’s options on the perimeter.
The situation became more complicated when former NBA guard Evan Fournier suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee along with a bruised shoulder, further limiting the club’s available personnel.
Additionally, Olympiacos suspended guard Tyler Dorsey following his public complaints regarding his role within the team and his contract situation.
