O’Shaquie Foster thought he had done everything Shakur wanted. After defeating Shakur’s close friend Raymond Ford by majority decision on May 30, Foster invited Shakur into the ring for a heated face-to-face confrontation.

The moment gave many fans the impression that a fight between the two unbeaten champions was next. Instead, Shakur has shifted his attention to other opponents, leaving O’Shaquie convinced the Newark native never intended to follow through.

Foster says Shakur promised him an opportunity if he beat Ford, but believes he changed course once the victory became reality.

“He went on Twitter and was like basically he not giving me an opportunity or giving me a shot at fighting him unless I give Ray Ford the shot. We did that, and he not holding himself. He not being a man of his word. We ain’t heard nothing from him. He got in the ring that night and said, you know, we going to do it. I told him I didn’t care which way. And we still ain’t heard nothing from him,” said O’Shaquie Foster on the Mr. Verzace Podcast.

Rather than waiting, O’Shaquie says he’s willing to meet Shakur at either lightweight or light welterweight.

“We’ll go to 35, 40. Whichever one the little man wants to do. He just got to get some what they say, kahunas. It’ll get done,” said O’Shaquie.

Foster believes Shakur has been putting other fighters in front of him instead of accepting the challenge himself.

“He already exposed himself. He told me he threw his little mans [Raymond Ford] in front of me. Now they saying he throwing Keyshawn in front of Devin. He steady throwing people out there instead of himself getting that field. We’re going to see,” said Foster.

If the Shakur fight never materializes, O’Shaquie says he won’t stay idle. His next target would be the winner of the August 1 clash between Lamont Roach Jr. and William Zepeda for the vacant WBC lightweight title, with a move to 135 pounds looking increasingly likely.
