Jusuf Nurkic opened up allegations about former Phoenix Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer, sharing his behavior and performance during their tenure.

Speaking of X&O Chat Podcast, the former Suns center said that Budenholzer had coaching  issues as he struggled with alcohol to the point of afflicting their environment.

“The situation we were in, the environment we were in. And then you find out, well, I don’t know if I should say this. But the guy was an alcohol addict. He was really having a problem with it,” he said during the X&O Chat 

Nurkic gave an instance regarding how the former head coach leads players such as Kevin Durant, Royce O’Neal and Grayson Allen.

“He was literally explaining to Kevin Durant how to score a basket. If he had been telling me, or Gordon, or Royce O’Neal or Grayson Allen, whatever, but explaining to Kevin Durant how to score? That’s like explaining to a pilot how to fly a plane.”

“Not just for me, but to everyone the whole system felt so absurd.”

Nurkic also shared that Budenholzer’s treatment with players was getting out of hand, often confrontational affecting the whole chemistry.

“He would schedule one-on-one meetings. Just to provoke people. He’d tell Bradley Beal, Grayson Allen, ‘You have no idea, you need to be this, you need to be that…’ I mean, you’d sit there and couldn’t believe what you were hearing.”
