Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe National Basketball Players Association opened up the PLYRS UNTD Performance Center, a $50 million training facility covering 42,500 square feet, in Los Angeles this week.
The space, previously used as a practice facility by the Clippers, is an all-in-one, centralized hub for players to train during the offseason.
"Nothing is harder than getting NBA players all on the same schedule, especially if there's different places involved," said Chet Holmgren. "It just becomes a mess. The last couple years I've been out here [in Los Angeles], it's hard to get in some summer runs. I would go work out on a court in one place, then go to another place to do weights, and then go to another place for recovery. It's all just wasted time you can't get back."
NBPA president Fred Van Vleet led the decision to invest in the space.
The facility includes a full weight room, a training room, conference rooms and a dining area.
NBPA executive director David Kelly also added that he hopes the space creates a "camaraderie" among union members ahead of the next round of collective bargaining negotiations.
