The NBA is set to release the 2026-27 regular season schedule next week. A few weeks ago, NBA commissioner Adam Silver had half-joked that the league wanted LeBron James to pick a team so that the schedule could be finalized. James ultimately chose to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, which may have cleared the way for the NBA to wrap up the schedule.

If previous form holds, the league will announce the schedule for key dates like Opening Night and Christmas Day in advance of the rest of the schedule. Opening Night is expected to be October 20.

The NBA previously announced that NBA All-Star Weekend 2027 would take place in Phoenix, Arizona from February 19-21. The Emirates NBA Cup will start on October 30. The Cup Final will be held at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 11.

The NBA Trade Deadline is set for February 11. And the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans will meet in the NBA Paris Game on January 14 and the NBA London Game on January 17.
