Nassourdine Imavov, Sean Strickland, Conor McGregor

Nassourdine Imavov appears to have borrowed a line from Conor McGregor while firing back at Sean Strickland.

Yesterday, the current and two-time UFC middleweight champion, via an X post, suggested he will most likely be running it back with Khamzat Chimaev next, whom he dethroned earlier this year at UFC 328.

“Y’all keep asking me when Im gonna fight again. Shoulder is getting solid, need a little longer. As to who Im fighting.. Chimaev keeps running his fu**ing mouth. Want me to teach you how to cut weight so you can stop b*tching for a second, L?”

Chimaev is also pushing for an immediate title rematch, but Nassourdine Imavov, who is riding a five-fight win streak, has waited long enough and doesn’t intend to wait any longer. He responded to Strickland, commenting:

“You’ll do what you’re told. See you soon.”

Having previously lost to Strickland, Imavov is eager for revenge. When the two clash again, “The Sniper” not only plans to avenge his defeat but also wants to make “Tarzan” pay for the latter’s comments and trash talk targeting him, Chimaev, and the Muslim community.

The UFC has promised him the next title shot, as per Nassourdine Imavov

Nassourdine Imavov has said that the UFC brass has promised him the next title shot. He was supposed to fight for the 185-pound strap earlier this year, but after Sean Strickland’s big win over Anthony Hernandez, the American got the opportunity to fight “Borz.”

🤯🏆 Nassourdine Imavov says the UFC only want him fighting for the middleweight title vs. Sean Strickland next.

“I wanted to fight Dricus to stay active, and the UFC told me I could only fight for the belt. After Khamzat vs. Strickland, I’m 100% fighting for the belt.”

Imavov and Chimaev did not want to fight each other because of the relationship between their countries, Dagestan and Chechnya. Additionally, Imavov’s mother did not want her son to lock horns with Chimaev, believing “it’s not a fight to be had, it shouldn’t be between two brothers.”

Imavov and many assumed that Chimaev would beat Strickland, register one successful title defense, and then move up to 205 pounds. But the UFC 328 setback ruined the Chechen-born Emirati’s plans, and now he wants the middleweight gold back before moving up.
