Dos Santos (23-11 MMA), a former UFC heavyweight champion, will be returning to mixed martial arts for the first time since scoring a second-round TKO victory over Alan Belcher in March of 2024. Prior to that triumph, ‘JDS’ was coming off a split decision win over Fabricio Werdum in 2023.

Meanwhile, Robelis Despaigne (6-2 MMA) will enter tonight’s bout with hopes of snapping a two-fight losing skid. ‘The Big Boy’ has suffered decision losses to Austen Lane and Waldo Cortes-Acosta in his most recent MMA appearances. Prior to those setbacks, the 37-year-old had gone 5-0, with all five wins coming by way of first-round knockouts.

Round one of this heavyweight contest begins and Robelis Despaigne comes forward with his hands down. He throws a body kick and then a left hook over the top. Junior dos Santos looks to close the distance but gets clipped with a counter right. ‘JDS’ with a huge low kick. Despaigne answers with one of his own and then a big right.
