Hitter of the Day

Luke Shliger, C, Detroit Tigers (Double-A Erie): 3-4, 2 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI.
Originally a Giants farmhand, Shliger was released early this spring but was quickly signed by the Tigers and has made stops at three different affiliates over the course of the summer. The bat has been especially hot in Erie, where he’s slashing .426/.459/.833 while handling the majority of the catching duties for the SeaWolves.

Pitcher of the Day

Davis Polo, RHP, Atlanta Braves (Double-A Columbus): 6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K.
After a quick two-game stint in High-A, Polo made the jump to Columbus and was dominant in his first Double-A start. He’s been a breakout performer in the organization this year after missing the entirety of 2025 due to injury. Polo’s mid-90s heater, change, and slider give him a quality arsenal to attack hitters, and he could see time in Atlanta as soon as next spring.
