The Dallas Mavericks are continuing to meet with candidates for their head coach opening. Dallas parted ways with Jason Kidd after Masai Ujiri was hired to lead the team's front office.

The Mavs have interviewed at least seven candidates to be their next head coach. That list includes Boston Celtics assistant Tony Dobbins, Brooklyn Nets assistant Steve Hetzel, Houston Rockets assistant Royal Ivey, Miami Heat coaching consultant Noah LaRoche, Toronto Raptors assistant Jama Mahlalela, Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori and former three-time head coach Terry Stotts.

Dallas has also pursued college head coaches Dusty May of Michigan and Jon Scheyer of Duke.

In an ideal world, the Mavericks will have a new coach in place ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft. While the front office will ultimately make the draft decisions, having the coach as part of the process is considered invaluable. The first round of the draft is on Tuesday, June 23, with the second round taking place on Wednesday, June 24.
