Liam Everts has won the second MX2 moto at the MXGP of the Netherlands in Arnhem. The Belgian took the lead on the opening lap and held onto the position all the way to the finish. However, things became extremely tense in the closing stages.
Camden McLellan managed to completely close the gap to Everts and was right on the Belgian’s rear wheel in the final laps. Everts kept his composure, made no mistakes and held off the South African to secure the moto victory.
Guillem Farres crossed the finish line in third, ahead of Sacha Coenen and Karlis Reisulis.
Thanks to his victory in the opening moto and second place in race two, Camden McLellan secured the overall Grand Prix victory. Liam Everts finished second overall, while Guillem Farres took third.
Sacha Coenen scored the same number of points as Farres, but as Farres finished third in the second moto and Coenen fourth, the final podium spot went to the championship leader.
Farres remains at the top of the MX2 World Championship standings. With three Grands Prix remaining, the Spaniard holds a 25-point advantage over Sacha Coenen.
