Leeds United have now set their sale stance for Sebastiaan Bornauw, with HSV Hamburg looking to swoop in and sign the defender amid a desperate search for reinforcements.

Those at Elland Road have been focused on reinforcements for much of the summer. Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic have both arrived, whilst a move for James Trafford is expected to reach completion.

Amid such spending, however, sales are naturally expected and that could include Bornauw. The Whites shut the door on his exit in January, but are now ready to sanction his move as he becomes desperate to leave.

Just 12 months after arriving in Yorkshire in a deal worth £5m from Wolfsburg, it would come as no surprise if Bournauw headed for the exit door.

The defender started just five Premier League games during his debut season and, in that time, maintained a poor duel success of just 41.7%. At a time when Leeds are looking to become an established side in England's top flight, they should be looking to move on from the defender.

As reported by Hamburger Abendblatt in Germany and relayed by Sport Witness, Leeds are now ready to green light Bornauw's departure. HSV are desperately searching for a central defender after losing Luka Vuskovic after his loan spell in the Bundesliga, and are now targeting Bornauw.

A move back to the Bundesliga would certainly make sense for all parties. Whether Leeds can receive a profit is the question that the 49ers will want answering. After all, it wasn't long ago that they splashed out £5m to sign the central defender.

Time is of the essence for almost every side in the transfer window, however, and Leeds would be wise to cash-in as soon as possible and focus on targets of their own. Bornauw was not good enough last season and that's unlikely to change amid further competition for places.

Leeds also expected to sell Lucas Perri

It's not a good look for Leeds' recruitment team, but Lucas Perri is also heading for the exit door just one year after arriving. The goalkeeper is expected to join Serie A side Torino to make space for the arriving Trafford.

Having failed to solve Daniel Farke's goalkeeper problem, eventually losing his place to 35-year-old Karl Darlow, Perri will go down as a transfer flop at Elland Road.

All involved at the Yorkshire club will be hoping to see Trafford put an end to their shot-stopping woes at long last.
