LeBron James has spent more than two decades balancing the demands of an NBA career with life as a husband and father, and he recently opened up about how he manages it all.

During Fanatics Fest for the second straight year, James sat down with young reporter Jazlyn Guerra of Jazzy’s World TV, who asked the four-time NBA champion how he balances basketball with spending time with his family.

“The best thing I have is, I have support,” he said. “My wife, Savannah, does a great job of when I’m out playing my sport or doing my job. She holds the household down; she’s the queen of the kingdom. That helps tremendously, and our family wouldn’t be as tight as we are without her.”

James explained that whenever he isn’t on the court or traveling with his team, he makes every effort to be fully present at home and reconnect with his family.

Guerra also asked the NBA’s all-time leading scorer about the sacrifices he has made throughout his career.

James admitted that chasing greatness often meant missing out on time with friends while he was growing up.

“Doing things that you would love to do like your friends,” he said. “Like you want to hang out with your friends a lot sometimes, and when I was younger, I had to sacrifice, maybe not going out with them, because I had to get up and work out the next day.”

Now 41 years old, James has built one of the greatest careers in basketball history over 23 NBA seasons.
