LaMelo Ball has been hit with a lawsuit alleging he failed to pay rent on a luxury Charlotte condominium before his trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Court filings claim Agape Property Management Group is seeking more than $100,000, alleging Ball and his former manager, ex-NBA player Jermaine Jackson, fell behind on payments for a second condo Ball had leased in 2020.

According to the complaint, Ball lived in one unit while Jackson occupied the other. Ball later agreed to purchase his residence in 2024, but Jackson allegedly remained in the second property under Ball’s lease.

“As of July 1, 2026,” the lawsuit states, “the Defendants owed the Plaintiff rent exceeding $181,500.00.”

The filing also claims the pair accumulated more than $90,000 in unpaid HOA compliance fines.

Jackson previously argued in a separate case that the apartment “needed repairs and mold treatment,” and “that’s why he’s lagged in rent payments.” That lawsuit, which did not include Ball, was later dismissed.

The new case accuses both defendants of breaching the lease agreement.

“The Defendants’ failure to pay rent while failing to leave the premises has caused the Plaintiff substantial and potentially long-lasting harm,” Agape Property Management Group wrote, “including HOA non-compliance fines, lost rental income, and other monetary damages.”

Ball spent six seasons with the Hornets before being traded to Minnesota earlier this offseason.
