The Los Angeles Lakers have waived rookie guard Peter Suder less than three weeks after signing him, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

The move clears a two-way roster spot so the team can complete its reported signing of Arthur Kaluma.

Suder went undrafted after a standout season at Miami (Ohio), where he earned MAC Player of the Year honors while helping lead the program to a perfect 31-0 regular season.

He averaged 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, shooting 54.6% from the field and 42.1% from beyond the arc.

The Lakers signed Suder to a two-way contract shortly after the NBA Draft, but he struggled during Summer League play in both the California Classic and Las Vegas.

Across six games, he averaged 5.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 17.5 minutes while shooting 33.3% from the field and 22.2% from three-point range.

According to McMenamin, the Coachella Valley Lakers remain interested in bringing Suder to their G League roster as an affiliate player, although he is expected to consider other opportunities before making a decision.
