LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly remain interested in continuing their partnership this offseason despite growing questions about the veteran star’s future.

James said after the Lakers’ playoff elimination that he plans to spend the next few weeks evaluating his future and considering his options.

The report noted that the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers could potentially emerge as destinations if he feels Los Angeles is moving in another direction.

Any new contract would likely represent the first pay cut of James’ 23-year NBA career, with the final number depending heavily on the Lakers’ offseason roster plans around Luka Doncic.

If James were to leave, Los Angeles could create nearly $50 million in cap space by renouncing his Bird rights along with those of Rui Hachimura.

James has played 23 seasons for the Cavaliers, Lakers and Heat. He has averaged 26.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists in 1,622 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 21 All-Star games. He has won the Rookie of the Year award, 4 MVP awards, 4 Finals MVP awards and 4 NBA championships.
