YouTubeThe New York Knicks are planning to sign former Los Angeles Lakers guard Dalton Knecht to a two-way contract while parting ways with Kevin McCullar Jr., according to HoopsHype.
Knecht, who was selected with the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, spent his first two NBA seasons with the Lakers before emerging as a potential addition to New York’s roster.
During his time in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old averaged 7.1 points per game while shooting 46% from the field and 37% from three-point range.
The Knicks are expected to bring Knecht in on a two-way agreement, which would allow him to split time between the NBA team and its G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks.
To create an opening, New York reportedly intends to waive forward Kevin McCullar Jr., who has spent the past two seasons with the organization.
McCullar, a former Kansas standout, was also part of the Knicks organization during its championship season and received his championship ring on opening night.
