The Sacramento Kings have moved quickly to secure one of their second-round selections, agreeing to a multi-year contract with shooting guard Emanuel Sharp.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Kings signed Sharp, the No. 45 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, to a three-year, $6.35 million contract. League sources told HoopsHype that the agreement includes two fully guaranteed seasons, giving the former Houston standout uncommon security for a mid-second-round selection.

Sharp arrives in Sacramento after a four-year career at Houston, where he developed into one of the nation’s most dangerous perimeter shooters. As a senior in 2025-26, he averaged 15.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 29.4 minutes per game while shooting 41.3% from the field, 37.2% from three-point range and 89.1% from the free-throw line across 37 appearances.

His junior season showcased perhaps his most efficient perimeter shooting. In 2024-25, Sharp knocked down 40.7% of his three-point attempts, connecting on 87 triples while averaging 12.6 points per game. Over his four collegiate seasons, he made 309 three-pointers on 822 attempts, a 37.6% career mark, while converting 87.1% of his free throws.

The Kings are betting that shooting will translate to the NBA. Sharp attempted 261 three-pointers during his final college season, meaning more than 61% of his field-goal attempts came from beyond the arc.

The Kings finished the 2025-26 season with a 22-60 record, tied for the second-worst mark in the Western Conference.

For Sharp, the opportunity follows a steady collegiate progression. After averaging 5.9 points as a freshman, he increased his production every season, finishing his Houston career with 1,702 points in 144 games while establishing himself as one of the Big 12’s most reliable perimeter scorers. Sacramento will now look to see if that shooting translates against NBA competition.
