UFC star Khamzat Chimaev has admitted that mistakes were made in his UFC 328 defeat at the hands of Sean Strickland.

In the main event of UFC 328, Sean Strickland pulled off one of the biggest upsets in recent title fight history when he was able to dethrone Khamzat Chimaev. Ever since then, Khamzat has made it crystal clear that he is interested in securing an immediate rematch for the belt.

While it’s not known whether or not that will happen, Khamzat Chimaev is certainly keeping himself busy, and you can tell that he is hungry to prove that he is still the best middleweight in the UFC.

In a recent interview, Khamzat Chimaev spoke candidly about the loss, as well as what the future holds.

“There were mistakes,” he said (video provided by Ushatayka). “There are always mistakes. There is no such thing as ‘without mistakes.’ We are human after all. I am not a saint, to be without mistakes. Nothing. I don’t want to talk about these things, weight cutting, all that stuff. Injuries. It is normal. We are fighting soon.”

“I don’t consider myself a loser,” Chimaev said at the RAF presser. “When you don’t give up, you don’t lose. I train everyday. I’ve been doing this my whole life, since I was 5 years old. I provide for my family. I’m happy to make money, beat someone up.”

“I am waiting for it (Strickland rematch), even tomorrow,” Chimaev said. “I’m waiting for it more than you.”
