Khabib Nurmagomedov leaked Islam Makhachev’s next fight during a Q&A session at his event Saturday night (Aug. 2, 2025) in New York City.

This weekend, Nurmagomedov was back for another special event titled, “An Evening with Khabib Nurmagomedov,” which is described as a night of faith, empowerment, and legacy. The former UFC champion talks fighting, life, and opens up the floor to address what his fans have on their mind.

Along the way, Makhachev’s name was brought up and Nurmagomedov was asked when the former UFC lightweight champion will fight next. Makhachev, who vacated his 155-pound strap earlier this year, is expected to fight current UFC welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena later this year, but nothing is finalized. Rumors have suggested the two could meet atop UFC’s pay-per-view (PP) card this November at Madison Square Garden, but fight fans have been waiting for an official announcement.

Well, Khabib just leaked UFC’s grand plans.

Not only did Nurmagomedov confirm that Makhachev will be back in action very soon, but he revealed that it would take place at Madison Square Garden (which would be UFC 322). One of Khabib’s team members tried to roll his comments back and stop him from saying anything else, but Nurmagomedov didn’t feel like he did anything wrong.

Check it out below:

“This is his deal with UFC, I have no deal with UFC, this is his problem,” said Khabib. “But we have deal with UFC that he is going to fight in Madison Square Garden.”
