Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayJeremy Sochan of the New York Knicks is set to receive an NBA championship ring before the Finals even begin.
Because he played for both the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks during the 2025-26 season, Sochan is expected to receive a ring regardless of which team wins the championship.
NBA teams typically award rings to players who appeared for the franchise during the regular season, even if they are no longer on the roster.
Sochan started the season in San Antonio, appearing in 28 games before being waived. He later joined the Knicks after the All-Star break and played 16 regular-season games for New York.
The former ninth overall pick became an important rotation player early in his career with the Spurs, but his role declined significantly this season before his departure.
As a result, Sochan finds himself in a rare situation entering the Finals – guaranteed to be recognized as a champion no matter who comes out on top in the Knicks-Spurs series.
