The attention surrounding Lin had grown dramatically during his breakout run, and he admitted that dealing with that level of pressure was difficult for him.
“When the spotlight is on me, I get nervous. I start sweating… I shrink. It’s overwhelming for me. Linsanity was that x100,000. Going into the Heat game, I had so much hype, that everybody had me circled on their calendar.
“Credit to Chalmers, the big 3 and the Heat. That was the night everybody says Linsanity ended. Credit to them because they did that.”
Miami’s defense gave Lin major problems throughout the game. He played 34 minutes but finished with only eight points, shooting 1-for-11 from the field while recording three assists and eight turnovers.
Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole were among the Heat defenders tasked with putting pressure on Lin, while Miami’s Big Three helped make things difficult for New York offensively.
