Jean Silva isn’t too concerned with Aljamain Sterling’s callout post-Noche UFC.

Silva scored his second straight victory when he defeated Jose Delgado inside the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. The Fighting Nerds standout sunk in a third-round submission via rear-naked choke, and he’s been pounding the table for his first crack at UFC gold.

Sterling hopped on his X account to suggest a No. 1 contender bout against Silva in a since deleted post. “Lord” Silva responded to the callout during the Noche UFC post-fight press conference (via MMAJunkie).

“As we like to say in Brazil: Talk me up, talk me down or talk sh*t. But talk about me,” Silva said. “Go ahead. Next question.”

Silva is hoping to get the winner of the upcoming UFC Featherweight Championship fight between titleholder Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev. That bout is scheduled to serve as the UFC 333 main event on Oct. 24 in Abu Dhabi.

Some remain unsold on Silva’s chances against either Volkanovski or Evloev, but the entertaining 145-pounder said he gained renewed focus after a disappointing TKO loss to Diego Lopes back in Sept. 2025. Whether or not that will be enough to give him a world title shot in his next outing remains to be seen.

Sterling has gone 2-0 since a competitive loss to Evloev back in late 2024. “Funk Master” has earned unanimous decision wins over Brian Ortega and Youssef Zalal in his recent outings. The former bantamweight titleholder revealed he turned down a fight against an unnamed opponent outside of the top 10. Whether or not the UFC matchmakers will use that against Sterling remains to be seen.
