The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 Team enjoyed a strong weekend during the seventh round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Teutschenthal, Germany. Janis Reisulis once again demonstrated why he is considered one of the championship’s brightest talents by securing fourth place overall, his best Grand Prix result to date. Teammate Karlis Reisulis finished tenth overall despite suffering two crashes during the day.

Following his impressive performance in France, Janis carried his strong form into Germany. The young Latvian got his weekend off to an excellent start by finishing second in the qualifying race, giving himself an ideal gate pick for Sunday’s Grand Prix.

Heavy rain before the races left the circuit demanding and treacherous. Janis once again got off to a great start and immediately settled inside the top five. In the opening moto, he was involved in an intense battle with Camden McLellan and eventually crossed the finish line in fourth place.

The Yamaha rider also delivered a strong performance in the second moto. Once again, he was well-positioned from the start and spent the entire race running with the leading group. His fifth-place finish secured fourth overall on the day, just one point shy of a podium result.

Karlis Reisulis also showed he had the speed to compete at the front. However, minor crashes affected both of his motos. Despite the setbacks, he finished tenth overall with 10-12 moto scores, collecting valuable championship points.

Both brothers now look ahead to their home Grand Prix next weekend. The eighth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship will take place at the sandy Kegums circuit, where Latvian fans will be out in force to support their countrymen.

Janis Reisulis:
“Fourth overall is my best result of the season so far, but it does hurt a little to miss out on the podium by just one point. Still, it was a strong weekend. I stayed on two wheels on both days, which is always important, and I put together two consistent motos. We want to carry that consistency into Latvia, so there are plenty of positives to build on.”

Karlis Reisulis:
“It wasn’t my best weekend. In the first moto, I got a great start and although I lost a few positions in the opening laps, I felt good on the bike until I crashed. Aside from that, it was a strong race. The second moto started less well because I crashed on the opening lap, which made things difficult. After that, the main focus was simply getting to the finish because I struggled to find my rhythm. It was a tough Grand Prix, but there are definitely positives that we can take into the next round.”
