Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayJalen Duren has agreed to sign a five-year, $200 million contract with the Detroit Pistons. The contract will be fully guaranteed and ends Duren's prolonged restricted free agency.
Duren could have taken the $9.6 million qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent in 2027.
The Pistons had ranged their offers to Duren during the summer between $170 million to $190 million and eventually made a standing offer at $200 million over five years.
Duren was an All-NBA center last season but struggled in the playoffs, which made his restricted free agency more complicated for the Pistons.
The Pistons previously signed Ausar Thompson to a five-year, $155 million contract extension, which will prevent the sides from navigating a potentially similar restricted free agency situation in 2027.
