Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe Yankees are awash in analytics. To their credit, they know the numbers game as well as anyone. But the most obvious numbers are right there in front of them, yet year after year, they ignore them.
Aaron Boone has managed the Yankees for nine years, and he is 0-for-9 now. That isn’t good, or certainly good enough.
By the old Steinbrenner standards, Boone would have been gone six years ago. We do understand the Yankees’ expectations are more normal today, in the post-Boss era. I get there’s room for reason. But 0-for-9 in championships for this marquee franchise should still be unacceptable.
An 0-for-9 shouldn’t suffice for a team that has Aaron Judge, a team that perennially constructs a top two rotation in the American League, a team that has the highest payroll in its league year after year, a team that’s searching for its 28th World Series title, and first since 2009.
