India produced a dominant all-round display to sweep aside Pakistan in their Women’s Asia Cup 2026 encounter in Dubai on Saturday. Pakistan were bundled out for just 55, their lowest-ever total in Women’s T20Is, before India completed the chase in only 8.4 overs. The seven-wicket victory also ensured India finished at the top of Group A with a perfect three wins from three.

Pakistan collapse after promising start

Pakistan appeared to have settled into the contest after Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar added 27 for the opening wicket. Muneeba was given an early reprieve when a chance at cover-point went down, but India soon found the breakthrough. Shafali Verma dismissed Muneeba for 13 in the fifth over, and Pakistan’s innings quickly unravelled. Gull Feroza departed three balls later after attempting an ambitious shot against Shree Charani, while Charani then trapped Zulfiqar lbw for 14.

Ayesha Zafar‘s dismissal in the same over left Pakistan four down for 32, and there was little resistance thereafter. Prema Rawat bowled Sadaf Shamas for three before Deepti Sharma removed Pakistan captain Fatima Sana lbw. With the score at 35 for six, Eyman Fatima and Umm-e-Hani managed a brief 10-run partnership, but India soon shut down any hopes of recovery. Eyman was run out for five, while Umm-e-Hani fell attempting a sweep.

Rawat claimed her third wicket by dismissing Nashra Sandhu without scoring, before Deepti completed the innings by having Tuba Hassan stumped. Charani and Rawat were the standout performers with three wickets each, while Deepti finished with two. Only Muneeba and Zulfiqar managed to cross double figures for Pakistan.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma finish the job

India’s chase began in emphatic fashion. Shafali sent the very first delivery over long-off for six and then took a single to reach another significant milestone. The opener became the youngest player to score 3,000 runs in Women’s T20Is, achieving the feat at 22 years and 220 days. Pakistan captain Fatima, however, refused to let India stroll to victory without a fight. She struck twice in her second over, first dismissing Shafali after a leading edge ballooned back towards her. Pratika Rawal followed shortly afterwards after edging behind. Smriti Mandhana, who had recently smashed a record-breaking century against Hong Kong, also departed soon after, trapped lbw for nine by Fatima.

Despite losing three wickets, India never looked genuinely threatened. Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti remained composed, rotating the strike and avoiding unnecessary risks. Deepti eventually injected momentum into the chase with a slog-swept boundary off Sandhu in the seventh over. Harmanpreet then provided the finishing touch, smashing Sandhu for a six straight down the ground to seal a comprehensive seven-wicket victory. The result underlined India’s superiority throughout the contest, with their bowlers first dismantling Pakistan before the batters completed the job with plenty of overs to spare.
