Before Sunday, the last Colorado Rockies players to homer 30-plus times in consecutive seasons were both Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

After Sunday, though, another Colorado player has joined the club. This time, it was All-Star catcher Hunter Goodman.

Hunter Goodman has 30-plus home runs in consecutive seasons

Despite a loss on Sunday, Goodman smashed three home runs, bringing his season total to 30. Goodman hit a career-high 31 home runs last season and is now already at 30 on July 19.

He's the first Rockies player to hit 30-plus home runs in consecutive seasons since the aforementioned Story and Arenado, and is just the seventh player in franchise history to accomplish the feat. He joins Larry Walker, Todd Helton, Vinny Castilla and Andres Galarraga.

Could Hunter Goodman be a potential trade piece?

With Colorado being one of the worst teams in the league this season, it will likely be open to trading several players ahead of the Aug. 3 MLB trade deadline.

Goodman's name has been floated in trade rumors and attached with the New York Yankees in particular, as an option to upgrade their catching situation.

Goodman is under team control through the 2028 season, meaning he'll cost quite a return haul if someone were to acquire him. It'll be worth watching to see if the Yankees, or any other team, decide to make the move to add Goodman to their lineup for the next several seasons.
