Leeds United will be travelling to West Ham on the final day of the Premier League season with no relegation worries in the air.

Instead, they could be the team that finally puts the Hammers out of their own misery near the foot of the table, with a Whites away win - to cap off a terrific debut season back in the top-flight - relegating Nuno Espirito Santo's men on Sunday afternoon.

Past this away day in the London Stadium sunshine, Daniel Farke will be craving plenty of summer signings, you imagine, as he goes about consolidating the West Yorkshire outfit as a Premier League regular.

The German will be looking for slight improvements all over the pitch, with a striker to compete with a free-flowing Dominic Calvert-Lewin perhaps one priority, among many, when the transfer window swings back open.

Leeds in talks to sign 154-goal striker for Farke

Calvert-Lewin's last-gasp winner against Brighton and Hove Albion, to clinch an impressive 1-0 win over the Seagulls for Leeds, was the ex-Everton striker's 14th league goal of the season.

He has proven himself to be a shrewd bit of business from the powers that be at the Whites, with constant injuries now a thing of the past for the experienced marksman, with the goals flowing again.

To gift Farke even more firepower, a report from TEAMTalk suggests that Leeds are in talks to snap up Juventus forward Jonathan David on loan, but they're far from being the only Premier League club interested in a move for the Canadian hotshot.

Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton, and Crystal Palace are all also named as suitors keen on landing the 26-year-old, with these top-flight clubs in question made aware of David's loan availability, ahead of a hectic summer transfer window.

Picking up the 154-goal David, at the expense of their rivals, could see the Whites land an even better option than Lois Openda, the Belgian reportedly keen to join Farke's side this summer.

How David compares to Okafor & Openda

If the Englishman is Leeds' overwhelming best bit of business from last summer's transfer window, snapping up Noah Okafor surely follows closely behind, with the Swiss attacker firmly in the Whites' good books, especially as he bagged a blistering brace versus Manchester United in April.

Overall, he has eight goals and one assist next to his name in Premier League action, and he will continue to be key under Farke, as we head into next season.

Yet, he isn't without his faults, as the ex-AC Milan forward is prone to a notable drop-off in performance, having gone all of November, December, and January without a goal donning Leeds white.

Openda can be similarly inaccurate in front of goal himself, having bagged only one paltry Serie A goal for Juventus this campaign. If Farke is to secure himself a striker from Turin, he would be better placed to snap up David, that's for sure.

While he hasn't had the most mind-blowing season himself in Italy, he has managed to pick up a modest six goals and four assists from only 20 league starts.

Okafor falls slightly behind, with nine goal contributions, as he heads into the final day clash versus the Hammers.

Away from their numbers just this campaign, it's clear that if Farke can work his Calvert-Lewin magic on the 26-year-old, the likes of Okafor and Openda, if he were to join, would be left in the dust in the attacking areas.

Indeed, the 75-time Canada international has a colossal career tally of 154 strikes next to his name, playing for the likes of Lille, KAA Gent, and Juventus, with Canadian football expert Tony Mariano exclaiming previously that the 5-foot-10 menace is "one of the best STs in the world."

Okafor and Openda just don't have that same prowess, looking at their career numbers next to David's, with Farke surely licking his lips at the prospect of having the deadly number 30 at his disposal, alongside a reinvigorated Calvert-Lewin.

Snapping up David, wouldn't see the Swiss trickster completely fall out of Farke's first-team plans.

Juventus striker Jonathan David

But, it's clear - despite Okafor ending the season on an unbelievable high - that the 26-year-old would be deemed an even more effective weapon off the bench than the number 19, and a better value option than trying to sign the hit-and-miss Belgian.
