Orgo-Life the new way to the future

The Cleveland Guardians were in need of an offensive spark ahead of Wednesday night's game against the New York Mets.

To hope to ignite one, Cleveland promoted its No. 2 prospect, shortstop Angel Genao.

Not only was Genao in the starting lineup, but he had what could be argued as one of the best debuts in the history of Major League Baseball.

Angel Genao collects four hits in first career game

Genao was the No. 9 hitter in the order for the Guardians on Tuesday, but he performed much better than his lineup spot would suggest.

Genao went 4-for-5 with an RBI and run scored in his debut. He became the first player in franchise history to collect four hits in a debut game and, according to Sarah Langs, just the 22nd player since 1900 to accomplish the feat.

He joins St. Louis Cardinals second baseman J.J. Wetherholt as the second player to have such a game in his debut.

Angel Genao has set quite high standards for himself

After a four-hit performance in his debut, it would seem that Genao has earned himself multiple games in a row in the starting lineup.

While it's clear he can't produce four hits each night, Genao has certainly shown his capabilities as a major league hitter and will now have to deal with the pressure of continuing to perform in a similar fashion as he did on Tuesday.
