The San Diego Padres are officially under new ownership.

But before the Seidler family transferred ownership to the group led by businessman Jose E. Feleciano and Kwanza Jones, they conducted one final act of business.

Every person with a stake in the franchise is contributing to a pool for bonuses for all full-time and part-time workers. Employees were notified via email last week that they would receive bonuses after the transfer of ownership was completed Monday.

“The success of this franchise has always been about people, and so many dedicated individuals have contributed to the growth and accomplishments of the Padres throughout our family’s stewardship,” former Padres chairman John Seidler said in a statement to the San Diego Union-Tribune. “This bonus is a way for our ownership group to say thank you to the employees who helped make that success possible through their hard work, passion, and commitment to our organization and our community. We are deeply grateful for everything they have done and the role they have played in the Padres’ growth over the years.”

The Seidler family announced they would explore a sale of the team last November. The $3.9 billion sale was announced in May with the process formalized Aug. 17 following a unanimous vote from the league.

On Monday, new Padres ownership held an introductory press conference at Petco Park.

“We are all in. It’s not lip service… We are absolutely committed to this organization and we are absolutely overjoyed,” Jones said to reporters.

“We gonna win. We gonna win. We gonna win it all. Hopefully sooner rather than later.”
