Arsenal could be handed a sensational opportunity to sign Victor Osimhen after the striker’s name reportedly emerged during negotiations between the Gunners and Galatasaray.

The Turkish champions are currently exploring deals for Arsenal stars Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, but discussions between the two clubs could potentially lead to an unexpected move for one of Europe’s most prolific strikers.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Victor Osimhen’s name emerged during negotiations between Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta and Galatasaray officials.

The Turkish giants have submitted a £38.4 million bid for winger Gabriel Martinelli and expressed strong interest in midfielder Ethan Nwaneri.

During these talks, the report claims that the prospect of Osimhen heading to Arsenal came up.

Arsenal could use Martinelli and Nwaneri interest to land long-term target Osimhen

Arsenal have previously considered Osimhen as a potential solution to their long-term search for an elite centre-forward.

The Gunners had reportedly placed Atlético Madrid star Julián Álvarez ahead of Osimhen on their shortlist, but Atlético manager Diego Simeone has made it clear that he is going nowhere.

That could encourage Arsenal to revisit their interest in Osimhen.

The Nigerian already has extensive experience in European football and has consistently demonstrated the goalscoring ability required to lead the line for a club competing for major honours.

With Tottenham also reportedly keen on signing the striker, Arsenal could potentially use their existing negotiations with Galatasaray to gain an advantage in the race.

The most intriguing aspect of the situation is that Arsenal already have a direct line of communication with Galatasaray.

The Turkish club’s pursuit of Martinelli and Nwaneri could potentially create an avenue for Arsenal to investigate Osimhen’s situation more seriously.
