The point of the video is to rotate your foot position and torso so that it follows the direction of the shuttle cock as seen by the gifs below, My question is, how do we know if we should just chasset/side step to the shuttle cock (like how we practice the 6 corner footwork) or follow the coach's advice in turning your foot and torso right away to the direction of the shuttle cock? The 2nd gif and 3rd gifs are great examples! the 2nd gif the person split steps like how one practices the 6 corner footwork, the 3rd gif the person rotates their foot position and torso to a hit a nicer shot.
