Ben is an experienced sports writer and editor, graduating with a Master’s in Sports Journalism in 2017.

Ben counts experience with publications like The Liverpool Echo and The Lincolnshire Echo. He has covered various sports, from American football to Mixed Martial Arts, but his primary passion is football reporting.

Since joining Football FanCast in 2018, starting out as a freelance writer covering nearly every team in the English football ladder, Ben has progressed through the ranks. He now leads the publication’s news team as a senior editor.

Liverpool announced a deal for Spanish winger Victor Munoz this week and the Reds are now already moving on to their next target, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Liverpool stars in World Cup action as Reds sign Munoz

Munoz, who is currently on World Cup duty with Spain, has agreed a six-year contract after completing a medical at his country’s base in Tennessee.

The 22 year-old was a man in demand and the Anfield club managed to fend off interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle to land him.

Munoz is the first new arrival since Arne Slot’s replacement Andoni Iraola was appointed as head coach, although he is the second summer addition to the squad, with the club having agreed a deal with Rennes for central defender Jeremy Jacquet earlier in the year.

He has two senior caps to his name and scored his first international goal on debut against Serbia in March.

An unused substitute for Monday’s disappointing 0-0 Group H draw with World Cup debutants Cape Verde, Munoz made 34 appearances, scoring seven times and adding five assists in all competitions for Osasuna last season.

He will hope for a World Cup debut when Spain face Saudi Arabia in Atlanta on Sunday, and he will join several Reds in action in North America.

Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo square off with Alexander Isak's Sweden on Saturday - Isak put his injury-wrecked season behind him with a stunning goal and two assists in his country's opening win against Tunisia.

Florian Wirtz got his tournament off to a flying start with an assist in Germany's win over Curacao, but faces a tougher test against Ivory Coast on Saturday evening.

Off the pitch, Iraola, Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes are hard at work rebuilding a squad that looked out on its feet at times last season, and Romano has shared an update on their next big move after Munoz.

Liverpool set to make new bid for 19 year-old winger

Indeed, the reporter says Liverpool are set to 'return to the table' with a new bid for RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast star Yan Diomande.

Scouts at Red Bull have suggested the 19 year-old is their 'most gifted player since (Erling) Haaland', so it is no surprise Liverpool's €100m (£87m) bid last week 'rejected immediately', according to Romano.

However, Edwards and Hughes will now return with another effort to sign the wonderkid winger, who for his part is very enticed by the prospect of playing at Anfield, via Romano's YouTube channel.

"The player is really tempted by the opportunity to leave now after the World Cup - find a new club and go immediately.

"It's a 50-50 situation, Liverpool had a bid rejected but are expected to return, Liverpool really want Diomande, Liverpool consider Diomande a top target, so they are expected to return to the table and try to find a solution with Leipzig."

Diomande scored 12 times and provided eight assists in the Bundesliga last season, and is seen as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool are also looking to improve their defence and have lined up a move for Tottenham star Micky van de Ven, but Roberto De Zerbi is keen to keep the Dutchman as one of the faces of his new project in North London.
