Dustin Poirier expects Paddy Pimblett to pull off the upset at UFC 329 in his co-main event fight against Benoit Saint-Denis.

Pimblett is coming off a loss to Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title earlier this year and has a tough fight in Saint-Denis. Entering the bout, Pimblett is the betting underdog, but Poirier believes the Brit has the tools to get his hand raised, as he was impressed with his durability against Gaethje.

“I’ve got Paddy,” Poirier said on UFC on Paramount+. “Both guys are great fighters. I just compare it to the Gaethje fight. I think if BSD fought Gaethje, Gaethje would stop him on the feet. Paddy took it and was still able to keep walking forward. He definitely has a chin. I just don’t know if BSD is going to be able to get him down. I think Paddy probably wins on the feet. BSD is not that slick on the feet. He might have power – and he’s not scared to take chances. He’ll walk in front of you, get in your face, and put himself in harm’s way to land his shots. I just think Paddy is probably a little bit better on the feet.”

If Pimblett can beat Saint-Denis, it would be a statement-making performance from the Brit and would put him right back in the title picture.

However, beating Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 329 will be easier said than done, as Paddy Pimblett is the underdog for a reason. Yet, Dustin Poirier has confidence that the Brit can have success on the feet to get a big win.
