Daniel is an experienced football writer and editor, having worked in the football media industry for over a decade.

After voluntarily writing for Fresh Press for two years, helping to build and establish the Read brand, Daniel started a part-time job with Fresh Press that later turned into a full-time writing and editing role, writing for club-specific pages such as Read Norwich, Read Celtic, Read Liverpool, and Read Arsenal.

Daniel spent just shy of a year writing and editing for Liverpool-based website, Anfield Watch, which included conducting and/or transcribing interviews with Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, former Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, and journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Since the summer of 2021, Daniel has worked for Snack Media (now Valnet) and has been a contributor to Football FanCast, on a freelance and full-time basis, as a writer and editor.

Daniel is a Norwich City fan and season ticket holder. He has been heard on BBC Norfolk and helped DAZN with research for their commentary due to his knowledge of the club, along with being featured in several local papers across the country, including the Coventry Telegraph and the Liverpool Echo, for Norwich-related content.

Daniel's knowledge extends to Scottish football, having covered Celtic and Rangers for several years. He particularly enjoys producing player analysis and producing transfer content.

Celtic officially confirmed their first signing of the summer transfer window earlier this week with the arrival of Colombian centre-forward Camilo Duran on a permanent deal.

The Hoops have paid a fee of £6m to sign the 24-year-old from Qarabag, which is the most money that they have spent on a striker since they signed Adam Idah from Norwich City for a fee of £9.5m in the summer of 2024.

Idah never really kicked on during his time at Parkhead, unfortunately, as he scored 13 goals in the Scottish Premiership in his only full season with the club.

The Ireland international was then sold to Championship side Swansea for a fee of £6m in the summer of 2025, as they took a significant hit on him after just 12 months.

Now, Duran has to ensure that he does not go down the same route as the former Norwich forward and that, instead, he can nail down a place in the starting line-up on a regular basis.

The key reason why Camilo Duran will be a success for Celtic

The key reason why Celtic supporters should be confident that the Colombian star will be a success at Parkhead is that he has already proven his quality in the Champions League.

Duran racked up five goals in ten appearances for Qarabag in Europe's premier cup competition in the 2025/26 campaign, scoring goals against Newcastle United, Eintracht Frankfurt, Ajax, and Benfica.

Whilst supporters may question the difference in quality between the Azerbaijani Premier League and the Premiership, the centre-forward has already shown that he can score goals against major European teams from top leagues on the continent.

In fact, he ranked among the best strikers in the competition last season as a goalscorer, whilst his physical data also suggests that he has the mobility to deal with the intensity of Scottish football.

Supporters should, therefore, be excited to watch the 24-year-old star in action for the first time when the Premiership campaign kicks off against Dundee at the start of next month.

Celtic to bid for star who would thrive alongside Camilo Duran

Whilst Duran has shown that he can score goals at a high level, Martin O'Neill still has to build a team that will create enough chances for his new number nine.

Celtic are on their way towards doing that because journalist Christian Vaquero reports that the club are expected to submit an offer of £7m to sign Real Oviedo forward Haissem Hassan.

The reporter claims that the Hoops have already had an offer of £3.4m turned down by the Spanish side, and now they are set to improve their bid in an attempt to reach an agreement to sign the winger.

He adds that clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are also interested in the Egypt international, which means that the Scottish giants may have to move quickly if they want to avoid missing out on a deal.

The right-sided attacker is coming off the back of an impressive couple of appearances for his country at the World Cup, creating one 'big chance' and registering one assist in 126 minutes of action.

Hassan showcased his quality in Egypt's 3-2 defeat to Argentina by completing four dribbles and providing one assist from the right flank, showing that he can deliver against top-quality opposition.

The 24-year-old talent also showed off his creative quality in LaLiga for newly-promoted Real Oviedo in the 2025/26 campaign, creating 3.22 xA and providing three assists in 20 starts in the Spanish top-flight.

Whilst that may not sound incredible at face value, producing that in one of Europe's major leagues for a team that finished bottom of the division suggests that he would be far more productive in a dominant Celtic side outside of the major leagues.

Therefore, Hassan could have the creative quality, based on his club and international form, to help Duran to ignite his goalscoring streak at Parkhead next season, should he also join O'Neill's squad.

The young forward seems to have the potential to be an excellent addition to the squad as a creative winger, but it is now down to the Hoops to strike an agreement with Real Oviedo with this new bid.
